Defeat in the battle of Clontarf
The day was cold and wet as we headed to Clontarf, so we should have realised that it was going to be a tough day. The Clontarf team attacked very strongly from the start and they were soon in the lead. Frank Collins and Cathal Gaynor played a brilliant game in defense, but they were still unable to stop Clontarf from scoring 6 goals.
Nedin Hivacic played a great game at mid-field in the first half before coming back to help out in defense in the second half. However, man of the match was David O'Connor. He was very busy in goals all through the match and pulled of many fine saves. He was forced to go off briefly due to an injury he sustained while making a series of three brave saves. But after a short rest he came back on again and helped keep the score under control.
